God Scrolls are magical or cursed scrolls that the gods and the Oni sometimes place around Kannagara. They can appear at any given time. If your character touches one, they will immediately be compelled to open it, at which point whatever is in the scroll will unleash upon them, for good or ill. As these scrolls can come from both the gods and the Oni, they can be either benign or malign in nature, and depending on their strength, have variable lengths of effect; they must be waited out before the character can return to normal, though they will revert to normal upon resurrection, if they have been killed during this period. Effect: The character's gender identity shifts to the opposite definition. If your character identifies as male, he will switch to female, and vice versa. If your character is genderqueer, your character will be forced to take on aspects of a gender assignment of the gods' choice. Note that this does not affect your character's sexuality or sexual preferences. Some scrolls, but not all scrolls, will force the body to change to reflect the gender definition. Which means if you pick up a scroll with no sex switch, you will be stuck in the "wrong" body, so to speak. Duration: Between 1 real-life week minimum and 1 real-life month maximum. Sex Switch Scroll Effect: The character's physical biological sexual definition will switch to the opposite definition. If your character is biologically defined as female, she will switch to a male body. This does not mean that she will identify with the male gender. She will simply be in the wrong body. Some scrolls do, however, cause character's gender definitions to switch along with their bodies. Duration: Between 1 real-life week minimum and real-life 1 month maximum. Sexuality Switch Scroll Effect: The character's sexual identity will shift to the polar opposite if your character is heterosexual or homosexual. If your character is bisexual/queer/pansexual or does not identify with a sexuality, this scroll will not change anything. The scroll will place the character's sexual urges on overdrive. They will probably feel rather frustrated for a while. Duration: Between 1 real-life week minimum and 1 real-life month maximum. De-Aging Scroll Effect: The character's body, psyche, and memories will revert to a younger point in their life, anywhere between their current age and a minimum of five years old. Duration: Between 1 real-life week minimum and 1 real-life month maximum. Effect: The character's body and psyche will advance in age to an older point in their life, anywhere between their current age and a maximum of 20 years older than they are normally. They will not magically gain memories, however--while they will be more mature psychologically, mentally, and the like, they will feel as though they have had amnesia for the duration of the age gap. Duration: Between 1 real-life week minimum and 1 real-life month maximum; permanent exceptions can be made for some characters. Ask the moderators for details. Effect: Temporarily provides the character with one jutsu, power, or ability that they normally could not perform. This includes genetically-inherited powers. Duration: Single use. Revelation Scroll Effect: Forces the character to reveal truths they would rather not share, act in ways they normally wouldn't consider acting in public, and otherwise bare their inner selves in ways that are difficult, uncomfortable, and unpleasant for them. Duration: 1 real-life week minimum to 1 in-game week maximum. Effect: These scrolls are always discovered in pairs--the characters who open these scrolls will find their psyches occupying each other's bodies, with full access to (though not knowledge of) that body's abilities. Duration: 1 real-life week minimum to 1 in-game week maximum. Effect: Effectively inverts a character's morality--and thus, to some extent, their personality to match. Kind and heroic characters may suddenly become cruel, malevolent schemers, for example, or villains may suddenly become altruistic and nobly self-sacrificing. Duration: Between 1 real-life week minimum and 1 real-life month maximum. Personality Alignment Switch Scroll Effect: Effectively inverts a character's personality to match. Outgoing and boisterious characters will suddenly become introverted and shy, and vice versa. Duration: Between 1 real-life week minimum and 1 real-life month maximum.
