Can we use AIM or Google Docs to play? Am I allowed to backdate any logs or tags? What happens if more than one character begins commenting to a network post at the same time? How does posting order work in multi-player logs? I would like to incorporate the gods or the Oni in a plot or log. How can I do that? Can I use my character journal for other games?
Can we use AIM or Google Docs to play? Absolutely. You can play however you'd like, as long as the logs are posted. However, please note that we prefer that the majority of gameplay is done on LiveJournal. If you have all those shiny icons, why not use them? See Posting Guide for more information.
Am I allowed to backdate any logs or tags?
Backdating posts is allowed if it is part of a plot. We do not encourage too much backdating, however. Generally, if more than two weeks of real-time has gone by, you should not backdate an event unless you obtain moderator permission.
What happens if more than one character begins commenting to a network post at the same time?
Ultimately this is up to the player. A time paradox can occur when two events or threads simultaneously happen. If it doesn't make sense chronologically, one can simply assume the gods had a hand in allowing the events to occur simultaneously. Play out the events as you would if they were occurring independently of each other, and pick whichever thread you feel should have priority as the one that happens first. Or just sum it up as some weird divine intervention.
How does posting order work in multi-player logs? There is none. What there is, however, is common sense and a good idea of how narrative and action works. We encourage our players to think of the ongoing action to maturely determine who posts next in the narrative. It is pointless to have characters post when they aren't actually needed in part of the narrative or don't have some kind of important response to what is going on -- especially when actions, thoughts, feelings, etc. can be reflected in perfect past tense in a later post. However, this doesn't mean you can simply run off and leave a character in the dust -- it's important to consider all the characters in the log, how they might react, and when they would post. I would like to incorporate the gods or the Oni in a plot or log. How can I do that? Talk to the moderators! We would be happy to NPC the gods or the Oni for you. If you have a specific idea of an Oni in mind and would like to know if it's possible, let us know. Players are allowed to NPC Oni with permission from the moderators!
Can I use my character journal for other games?
As Kannagara is a community-based game, you may use your character journals for other games. However, we request that you post up an HMD (which is optional) and OOC post for communication and pin it to the top of the journal through forward-dating. We also will require that you post your character's application on the journal.
