Is there really no electricity or running water? What if my character gets sick? What if we run out of weapons? What do we do about clothing? How do we pick a house and where to live? Is there soap/shampoo/other hygenic products in this world? Can I summon over things from my character's home world? Is there currency in this world? Are there shops?
Is there really no electricity or running water? The only electronic device that exists is the Hitomi, which doesn't even need electricity to run, as it is powered by the energy of the gods. This is an ancient world, so there is no electricity or running water in any of the villages. As time passes and as the game evolves, the gods might reward villages with more modern amenities such as electricity and running water, but in the beginning, there is none.
The only exception is if there are events that change the world's settings to a different panfandom universe. In those events, electricity/running water will reflect what is present in the panfandom universes. See Settings for more information.
What if my character gets sick? If your character gets sick, they have a few options. Either they can consult with any medical professionals in the game, attempt to wait out their sickness, or try to appeal to Okuninushi, the god of medicine, who can cure all illnesses. They may also go to one of the clinics in the villages, find a traveling healer, or a Nomad who specializes in medicine. See Deities for more information. What if we run out of weapons? All villages have armories with ancient weapons such as shuriken, kunai, tanto, swords, spears, etc. that weapons can be purchased from. If your character takes up a job that involves protecting the village, they may be able to be supplied with weapons free of charge. Alternatively, your character may also purchase weapons in Yomisato, or on the Black Market. What do we do about clothing? All characters who come into the game will discover a few changes of the same clothes they arrive in Kannagara with in their houses upon arrival if your character takes up residence in a Celestial village. These might or might not be replaced as time goes on depending on the will of the gods, and on how they view your character. There is no shortage of ancient clothing, however! Yukatas, hakamas, kimono, qi paos, and other ancient garb is easily found in every village. If your character chooses to reside in Yomisato, they will have to purchase clothing, unless they pay tribute to a fallen god. See Settings for more information. How do we pick a house and where to live? That's entirely up to you. Look at the settings, talk to the players, or the moderators, to get a general idea of what the environment is like. Ultimately, you can decide where your character would like to go. There are plenty of houses available! Is there soap/shampoo/other hygenic products in this world? Soap has existed for thousands of years, but depending on what village you are in, might not be as perfumed or as nice as the soap modern characters enjoy, but are available in the markets. Unfortunately, modern toothbrushes, loofahs, and sponges are not readily available, but there are ancient counterparts. As for deodorant, Okuninushi, the god of medicine, has seen to it that your characters will have access to a special anti-perspirant powder and special oils and perfumes made of special citrus and cinnamon preparations. There are also oils that can be used with soap. There is no modern shampoo. Can I summon over things from my character's home world? See Summoning.
Is there currency in this world? Yes. As of Week 4, Day 4, there is currency in Kannagara. This currency is ancient, however!
See Money.
Are there shops? Yes, there are plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as businesses of every variety imaginable. We are still in the process of developing more settings for this purpose. If your character is interested in opening up a business, there are plenty of abandoned shops just waiting for a new owner to take it over.
